THIS IS IT

I saw the Michael Jackson movie "This Is It" last night. It was pretty amazing. His voice during rehearsals seemed astonishingly concert ready, which I guess I should've expected. Seeing how the concert was supposed to come to life made me wish all over again that his death was merely a bad dream. I'm sure the tickets were way out of my price range but I would've done whatever I could've to get into it. It's feels so weird being reminded that he's not in this world anymore.

Of course, the parts I was really into were his rehearsal outfits. It seemed like he got dressed in the dark of a gift closet half the time. Especially with those Ed Hardy sweatpants and shirts mixed with tight orange jeans, black loafers, turqoise oversized shirt and oversized boxy silver blazer......um, what? The looks I really did appreciate was when he was wearing those evil looking female pointed shoulder coats with black cargo pants or baggyish slacks. I think the coats were Margiela womenswear, but I'm not sure. He looked like an evil witch in them and I loved it. I forgot to bring my camera to the theater (idiot!) so this is the only picture I could snap of his look with my camera phone:

TARADISE

Today at work we were discussing the many different type of television shows that I would be great hosting. One that has always been very close to my heart is Taradise. Originally slotted to be E! network's "Wild On" but with new host Tara Reid, it turned into an amazing guilty pleasure for tons of people that just wanted to see Tara get drunk, be a slutty idiot, and make a fool of herself. Obviously it was amazing and I loved it. I used to want to be her successor after she died from liver cancer or whatever other problem she would have obviously had if the show continued on the air. Actually, I still do want to be her successor. If anybody out there works at E! network then please let me know so i can audition to host the next season of "Wild On!" Tara has proved to me that all you have to do is be completely clueless as to any of the culture of the destinations you are sent, get wasted, flirt with guys, and party your ass off in any club they send you. I don't even think she knows where she is half the time, its amazing.

The Gossip / Men / We Are The World

Last night was the Gossip concert with Men and We Are The World. It was my first time seeing both Men and The Gossip, We Are The World on the other hand I've seen many times and still love with each performance. I didn't catch much of Men as I was backstage hanging out with the likes of these two trannies:

The Gossip were great live, even despite Beth's voice still not fully healed from having a cold or something. She is such a nice, fun, and energetic person. I think she deserves every bit of fame she has and hope she gets more.

We Are The World

Beth Ditto (wearing Jeremy Scott)

Oh and I almost forgot the most amazing part! My friend Tashi going onstage to sing a duet of Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It"!!!! SO amazing.

HEAVY ROTATION: It'll Be O.K.

These are just some songs I've been listening to a lot this past week.
It is not a mix, I am not a DJ, so don't expect any beat matching. This is just a zip file of the following songs that have been played in heavy rotation in my itunes and in my car as of late. I fully realize how these all may seem themed a little emotionally, but that is the truth, so I just wound up titling this playlist "It'll Be O.K." as it has been some of my therapy the past week.

Track List:
"Earthquake" - Ssion
"Meet Me Half Way" - Black Eyed Peas
"Point Of No Return" - Expose
"With Every Heartbeat" - Kleerup featuring Robyn
"Enjoy The Silence" - Depeche Mode
"Crystalised" - The XX
"If I Had A Heart (Fuck Buttons Remix)" - Fever Ray
"Your Love" - Frankie Knuckles
"Send Him Back (Pilooski Edit)" - The Pointer Sisters
"She's Not Me" - Madonna
"Catch Me I'm Falling" - The Cover Girls
"I Can't Kick This Feeling" - Moodyman
"I Won't Stop Loving You" - Mirage

Trannyshack L.A.

On friday night I wound up at Trannyshack after lisa katnic's surprise bday, I made it a very echo park night. I went with a few expectations already in my head (mainly since I'm kind of over drag performances lately), but was pleasantly surprised by some great things on stage.

The highlights for me were fadra's performance of "tardy for the party" while riding a rascal and drinking franzia (she stayed in character and on the rascal all night), Alaska Thunderfuck singing "I will always love you" by Whitney Houston while being pissed on by two men in pig masks, the fake breasted and cunted queen with baby back up dancers, and of course Raja doing "Through the fire" which was SO beautiful.

My faith in drag queens is temporarily restored. We will see how long this lasts...

Givenchy Trunk Show

Major ugh! Moment.
Givenchy is having a trunk show tomorrow at Barneys in New York and I'm on the other side of the country....of course. Riccardo Tisci is also supposed to make a personal appearance. If only I was there he would obviously see me and realize I'm the man of his dreams and we would live happily ever after draped in black lace, sheer, and leather. That stuff actually happens right?

If your in New York:
Barneys on Madison Ave, 4th Fl. Tues. October 27. 4:30 - 5:30pm.

BARBIE HAS EVERYTHING

At the risk of making myself seem even more like a doll creep, I'm posting about yet another barbie collaboration.
Christian Louboutin made a Barbie Shoe for her 50th birthday. That bitch really does have everything, but I'm not mad at her photoshoot with Mr. Louboutin himself. She can really turn out some of those looks, and somehow (photoshop) she doesnt look a day over....30?

NO MORE VAMPIRES

Ok, we have officially taken this vampire craze too far. I've seen a lot of vampire themed products around but now with the introduction of Count Cockula, a vampire themed fleshlight I think the obsession has gone a bit overboard. Why in the world would I ever want to stick my dick into anything with sharper teeth than a regular human mouth already has? Adding a "fang texture" inside the thing doesn't sound very appetizing to me either. We need to stop this vampire obsession. I'm over it now. Am I actually living in True Blood? Get your fangs away from my dick please.

MOVING ON

I feel broken.
I don't know how to fix it, but it's time to move on.
One of the things that has been helping me lately is listening to Mya.
I feel like Mya really kept it real. I especially love songs that are honest enough to say some really fucked up shit, like the one below titled "If you died I wouldn't cry because you never loved me anyway." Woah Mya, that's kinda fucked up, but probably so true. I feel the same way about that Outkast song "Roses" where he talks about how he hopes "Caroline" gets into a car crash. I don't have ill feelings towards anybody, but I can appreciate the honesty and openness of both those songs. Anyway, back to Mya, whatever happened to her? I had read a long time ago that she got really liberated with her sexuality on her last album and confronted her father or something? I dunno, I just think its time for another album Mya. GIVE IT TO ME.
